BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol for distributing video, music, software, and other digital media content.
The digital media content is distributed with torrent files, which contain the metadata of the downloadable files. The advantage of torrent files is that they allow faster downloads than multiple seeds.
To open torrent files, you will need BitTorrent client software, such as uTorrent. It is a P2P file sharing tool that allows you to download the content that the torrent includes metadata.
Once you’ve downloaded a torrent, you can open its files, which are usually included in a ZIP archive.
If you don’t have a torrent file yet, you can download them from sites such as Pirate Bay. However, Pirate Bay is blocked by various countries, such as the United Kingdom and the United States.
Although sharing torrent files is legal, countries still block torrent sites to suppress the distribution of copyrighted content that can originate from some of them. Therefore, you may need to install VPN software to receive torrents from Pirate Bay and similar sites.
Notice that Downloading copyrighted material in any way is illegal in many countries.
