Excel has many features on its toolbar that allow you to perform many actions. The features are many, so some users may not notice that some are missing. However, for others, some features, such as the stock data type, may not appear in your toolbar.
Excel is no stranger to errors, as the toolbar has also been known to disappear at times. Still, if you desperately need to use this function, you’ll need a quick fix, and that’s where this article comes in.
Why is Excel’s stock data type not displayed?
If you are wondering why your stock data type in Excel is not showing, here are some possible reasons:
- Older version – This can occur if you are using a workbook created in an older version of Excel. You may find that data types are not in Excel 2016 but are in newer versions.
- Extras – The problem may also occur if you have recently installed a plugin that changes the way the stock data type is displayed.
- Application failure – Sometimes, apps tend to crash, especially after a recent update.
- Microsoft servers – Most Microsoft products need to reach the server to load all functions. If you have trouble getting to them, your stock data type in Excel may not be showing.
- Subscription has expired – You need a Microsoft 365 subscription to use Office products. If your validity has expired, you may not have access to all features.
- Interrupted connection – If your network connection has problems, Excel will have trouble connecting to Microsoft servers and therefore will not be able to load the files.
- Data does not match – It’s also possible that the data you’re trying to enter into your spreadsheet doesn’t match Excel’s stock data type.
