Over the past few months we have improved our football drama in many ways.
– Mechanics: The card element of the gameplay has been clarified and a “card description” is always provided. The “reasons” for success and failure of in-match actions are always available (with big circles on the field) by more “technical” players, allowing them to adapt to a wider variety of gameplay styles.
– Conversation: More elements of the gameplay have become dialogue and expanded like a “handshake” section and press conference. For every conversation, we developed a set of tools for direction (see this post: ). So I added balloon styles, manga style layouts and even animations (see the I-Ching conversation series).
– Matches: Every part of the match has been improved with more animations and feedback. Objectives have nice animations attached to them and cards rotate to show descriptions… .
– Plot: A central part of the plot has been created with some new dialogues and situations. There’s all the conspiracy against the Thiefa League president (Septic Splatter).
What is missing is the bridge between the central part of the plot (around 8-12 weeks of the championship) and all possible endings. Some are ready and some are not. We also want to refine the person’s manager AI and personality, and make repetitive steps such as press conferences less repetitive in the content. This is very close as the game is the last effort to reach the beta stage.
