Feature Overview
God X-Sense Home Security System Comes in two versions: five-piece and eight-piece sets. I reviewed the five parts, which include a base station, a motion sensor and two door / window sensors. However, the eight-part version works in the same way, but includes two motion sensors and four door / window sensors.
Apart from the base itself, everything is wireless, so there is no need to run cables throughout the house. In addition, there is a range of 1.25 miles on the system, meaning sensors can be up to 1.25 miles away from the base and still work. It is ideal for larger homes, patios and storage buildings.
Unlike many wireless security systems, there are no contracts or subscriptions involved. It is important to note that this is not a security camera system, but only motion sensors and door / window sensors, so there are no sections for online or local storage.
Instead, you will not only hear alarms if you are at home (up to 105 dB), but you will also receive alerts in the X-Sense Home Security app (for both iOS and Android). If you have a camera installed, this is a great time to switch to it to see what turned on your sensors.

In the box
You will not need anything other than a screwdriver to install the X-Sense home security system. Of course if you choose to use the adhesive strips you will not even need a screwdriver. Otherwise, everything you need to set up the system is included in the package.
Kit includes base station with power cord. There is also a motion sensor and two door / window sensors. Batteries included for all components. There is also a simple remote control, but if you lose it, do not worry – you can still control everything in the app.
Screws with anchors and adhesive strips are included to facilitate installation. Brackets are already attached to the back of the sensors. You can remove these if you do not need them, but the glue sticks great anyway.
Starting to install
X-Sense indicates that it can be configured in just three minutes. The assessment is not really far off. The installation guide is clear and easy to follow. After installing the app, just follow the instructions to connect the base and sensors.
Once the base was plugged in, all I had to do was scan a QR code on the base itself. I could then connect to my Wi-Fi network, name the device and adjust the settings. The next instruction was to add another device, which was a motion sensor.
Once the base is connected to my network, all I had to do was scan the QR code on the sensor, hold the test button on the sensor and wait a few seconds for everything to connect. It was the same process with the two door sensors. I’ll say it’s a little hard to find the test button on the door sensor because it’s so tiny.
You should not place the sensors immediately. Feel free to add and adjust all of your devices before proceeding with the actual installation.
I would say it might have taken three to four minutes for the fitting process with the base, sensors and remote.
The next step, of course, is basically placing the sensors. I chose the adhesive strips. I can not say if these will hurt any color or not, but I was able to remove one half of the door sensor to move it slightly up and I had no problems.
Of course, if you prefer a more solid installation, screws are included. However, I had no problems with the glue during my test. I would recommend using screws if you are installing sensors in exterior structures where the temperature will fluctuate more.
I would add space between five and ten minutes for the placement and installation of the devices themselves. This means that at most, it will take 15 minutes to install this system. Of course the eight-part version will only take a few more minutes.
Using the app
The X-Sense Home Security System is incredibly easy to control and customize through the app. Each component has its own settings screen. This allows you to change the name, like naming a front door / window sensor or giving it a living room window name. You can also change the alarm tone and volume.
While you need to set up an account to use the app, it’s just for security purposes, so people can not just change settings whenever they feel like it. You can share access only with the people you choose, such as a spouse, child or roommate.
Using the X-Sense Home Security System
It is highly recommended to place the motion sensor high in a corner where sunlight will not shine on it. If you are not sure if the sensor works well in a particular location, you can use the test feature in the app to check the location before you attach it to the wall.
The motion sensor will only turn off every two minutes at most. This prevents excessive alarms if a pet passes for example.
I had to turn up the volume halfway to hear it all over my house. I installed it in a central location so I could hear it more easily. When it is active, the alarm sounds until you turn it off. You can also disable it to prevent alarms while sitting at home.
For the door / window sensors, I could choose from four sounds. In the base itself there are only three. These make a sound every time the door or window they are on opens. The alarm is immediate, meaning you will not be caught unprepared when a door is opened.
I received phone messages as soon as an alarm rang. I could turn it off from my phone, remote, or voice.
The sensitivity of the motion sensor can be adjusted. At the lowest setting, I got alerts every time I passed by. It seems that the highest sensitivity has absorbed the smallest movements, such as a ceiling fan, in the highest setting may be too sensitive in many cases.
Last thoughts
From the setup and installation to the actual use of the security system, I was pleasantly surprised at how user-friendly everything was. In addition, it worked exactly as specified. These are two things that rarely happen with electronics.
